BuzzCard Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 23, 2026

BuzzCard is a meeting-buzzword bingo party game published by Megafort Games LLC. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and your choices. It is written to be honest and specific: if the app changes what it collects, this document changes with it.

The short version

Accounts and sign-in

Anonymous guest (default). When you first go online, the app signs you in anonymously through our backend provider (Supabase). This creates a random account identifier so your games and packs are associated with you. It is not tied to your email, phone number, or real identity.

Optional permanent account. You can upgrade a guest into a saved account so your data follows you to a new device. There are three ways, all optional:

A single BuzzCard account can have more than one of these linked to it, so you can sign in whichever way you used last time.

What the app collects

Display name. If you enter a name, it is stored on your profile and shown to other players in games you join. It is optional and freeform: use a nickname if you prefer.

Email address (only if you sign in). If you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, the associated address is stored to identify your account. Guests have no email on file.

Gameplay data. When you host or join a multiplayer game, we store the game (name, join code, settings, word pool), the players in it, and each player's board progress (which squares are marked, scores, who won). This is what makes real-time multiplayer and the post-game recap work.

Game history. Your past-game results are saved so you can see your history. For a signed-in account this is synced to our backend so it follows you across devices; for a guest it primarily lives on your device.

Packs you create. Buzzword packs you make, and (if you choose to publish a pack) its contents and category, are stored so they can be reused and, for public packs, searched and played by others.

On-device data. Your custom packs, favorites, and history are also stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard app storage.

Server logs. Like any online service, our backend keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, so that the service can be operated and errors and abuse investigated. These logs are not used to build a profile of you, are not linked to advertising, and are not shared with advertisers.

How the data is used

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. BuzzCard carries no advertising today. If advertising or a paid tier is added in a future version, this policy will say what that involves before it ships.

Service providers

We use Supabase as our backend (database, authentication, and real-time sync) to store and process the data described above on our behalf. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are provided by Apple and Google respectively. Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and protected by per-row database access rules. See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

Data retention and deletion

Children's privacy

BuzzCard is a general-audience game about workplace meetings. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Access to stored data is enforced by per-row database security rules: you can read and change your own profile and the games you participate in, not other users' private data. Sign-in tokens are verified on our server (issuer, audience, expiry, verified email, and a single-use nonce to prevent replay). No security is perfect, but we design access to be least-privilege by default.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this document and its effective date.
